weekend wandering

I can’t believe it’s already saturday, but I hope you’re having a lovely one. Me? I’m writing this between print runs and packaging orders for delivery, but it’s not all bad. It’s giving me a mental break from worrying about what to say at The Conqueror Awards! Thank you so much for the well-wishes and topic suggestions, by the way. You guys are the best.

Allow me to thank you with some fun links to explore:

I don’t know what I love more: the quote, or the fact that there’s someone making non-lame motivational posters.

Have you ever heard about Victorian hair art? Creepy but fascinating.

One day I’ll be organized to pack a lunch to work, and it will be in this neat-o tiffin box.

Speaking of food, is anyone going to Savour at the end of the month? It looks like it could be a fun way to spend an afternoon.

This necklace didn’t make it into my neon moodboard last week, but I can’t stop thinking about it. That colour!

As someone who always seems to be running through airports, I can see this this luggage scooter being a game-changer.

Moleskine / artist collaborations always me a wish I was less of a neat freak with mine.

I know Valentine’s Day is long over, but this sleek men’s watch is worth bookmarking. Christmas, maybe?

Did you know that last Thursday marked the official end to the Chinese New Year celebrations? I hope everyone had a great start to the new Bunny Year!

If you were too hungover to kick off January 1st properly, consider this the perfect time to initiate a do-over: make (or get started on) resolutions, think seriously about your goals, and get your head in the right place to make the best of the next 12 months.

Before we get distracted, let me introduce my friend Courtney’s fantastically uplifting 30×30 project. Come join us!

Speaking of pick-me-ups, aren’t these the most beautifully designed chocolate bars?

Solargraphy = photos of the sun moving across the sky = awesome

I can’t decide what’s more lovely: the colour or the draping of this dress.

Type geeks take note: the Alphabattle rages on!

A fun little video tour of a super fun house.

If my shower weren’t a glass and concrete box, I’d order this shower curtain in a heartbeat.

Fighting the urge to make a thousand of these garlands right now…

Well, that’s all I have up my sleeve for now. Happy weekend wandering my dears!

Full disclosure: I’m one the saps who celebrates Valentines Day every year. My V Day traditions include cooking dinner at home together and exchanging small but sweet gifts – what about you? Thankfully, I’m just about done shopping, but if you’ve fallen behind here are some cute little ideas:

A virtual gift card from this online store would make any girl happy…and let you off the hook for showing up “empty handed”!

And for the guys, reasonably-priced handmade shoes. Really! These are my favourite.

Geeky-but-cool: natural history prints. Even cooler? Wearable natural history prints.

I’d love to wake up to this poster every morning, wouldn’t you?

What a fun idea for a Valentine’s Day party! Or as a gift for someone who really loves cake.

Small budget? This watch is under $20, unisex and surprisingly chic. I get compliments on mine all the time.

Giant budget? Tuck a pair of tickets to somewhere exotic into one of these bespoke handmade trunks.

Traditional, die-hard romantics should go see my friend Alice, who makes the most beautiful bouquets.

Or, create your own candy – a fun twist on boxes of truffles

And remember: if nothing you order is going to arrive on time, a heartfelt IOU over a nice dinner goes a long way. Good luck, sweethearts!

Every time I fall ill, I always imagine it’s what being a jellyfish must feel like: limp and languid and generally at the mercy of one’s environment. While I work on clearing the medication-induced haze in my head, I thought I’d share some of the sites I’ve been floating around lately – happy wandering!

The most perfect gift for someone who means the world (or universe) to you. I absolutely adore this.

Pretty much everything on this site is going to amuse you to no end.

I haven’t had a decent panini in ages – maybe it’s time to invest in one of these?

Speaking of food, I’ve never tried this, but between you and me, I’m kind of intrigued.

Gosh, this fiery red number is beautiful. And did I mention it’s on sale?

These stamps would be so perfect for a facebook-addict friend (and we all know a few of those, right?)

Don’t laugh, but I secretly want these. No more conversation lulls!

Brilliant recycling idea: yucky leather jackets = surprisingly cool leather duffels

This weekend, I’ll be attempting to divide my time between yoga, Chinese New Year errands (shopping, cooking and cleaning), printing – yes, I work on weekends – and catching up of sleep if at all possible! What about you?

If you have some time to wander about the great wide web, here’s some links I’d love to share:

Might I suggest this book? I just started into it and love, love, love it. The first story is so hauntingly beautiful.

I recently smelled this at a friend’s home and decided it’s my next room scent.

Anyone thinking about Valentine’s Day yet? Sweet gift alert!

Speaking of sweet, I can’t wait to start baking our second batch of pineapple tarts today – here’s an excellent recipe if you have similar plans.

Beautiful, custom, and inexpensive artwork.

It kind of goes against my Leo nature to say it, but what a chic wedding dress.

I’m really not into memes, but this made me…well…lol.

Goodbye, hours of my life spent daydreaming about fantasy homes! Psst: this one in particular.

Have fun perusing!
